Finding Dryvit Inspectors

Why do I Need Dryvit Inspectors?

The biggest issue with a failing EIFS system is water intrusion. Which can develop into several issues and structural damage. An inspection of the external draining systems and its health helps identify any current or potential issues. Early detection and prevention can save owners thousands in repairs.

So, if you are considering buying a home, or commercial space. We recommend inspections of the exterior cladding to identify any moisture issues. Helping you avoid any potential health risks or dangerous structural issues.

Experience to Help you Avoid Costly Repairs

Cliff Kapson Consulting has over 20 years of experience in the industry. Evaluating the performance of various building envelopes. We apply this expertise to provide thorough evaluations of homes and commercial spaces. Informing you of any issues that may be present.

We offer different approaches to the inspection of Dryvit, or stucco. Depending on client needs, we feature 2 levels of inspection protocols.

Level 1 Inspection includes different points of visual observation. Including, but not limited to:

  • Visual evidence of efflorescence, mold, mildew, or other straining of the surface
  • Visible cracks throughout
  • Physical damage or any other irregularities
  • Visual inspection of the Dryvit for compliance to manufacturer standard installation details

Level 2 inspection includes the same visual details as a level 1, but expands to more detailed inspection aspects, like:

  • Proper termination at grade on roof areas
  • Presence of proper weep screed and properly integrated flashing
  • Presence of proper kickout flashing
  • Window and door flashing
  • Proper slope and flashing of concrete and/or stucco sills
  • Installation of appropriate backer rod and sealant around windows
  • Doors and other stucco terminations with a dissimilar material
  • Presence of proper control joints and expansion joints

We also provide detailed elevation photos with an overlay of problems found with reference points on the building. Our inspectors also collect moisture readings at the locations for correct results, avoiding false positives.

We then compile all the information collected into a detailed report that is given to the client. The report includes, but is not limited to, a narrative log with the description of the problem, and recommended solutions, if appropriate, a Photo log, and elevation photos with overlay of moisture readings.
